Censorship in America still happens

Funny thing happened at the Pacific Palisades, California Branch library yesterday.

I’ve now actually become a victim of censorship.

It seems that certain web sites were only available from wired computers.  Any attempt to access them from a wifi equipped computer, failed.

I’m not even sure why this was done.  I was able to move a few miles down the road to another access point and still completed my task.

When I asked them if they were going to censor access again today they claimed that they do not do that.

When I told them what had happened then the other employees started asking did that really happen.

One employee told the others that they had blocked access to all work related web sites.

To funny.  A couple of hundred years ago a group of people got together and decided that they wanted to be free of tyranny.  A few hundred years later some people still haven’t figured out that times have changed.

Tyranny usually works best when you have guns or an army to back it up.  Otherwise people just look at you like you’re an idiot and they work around you.  Something that I’ve had to a lot in the last 9 years.

July 3rd,4th,and 5th there will be no entries to this blog.  Enjoy the fourth, and your freedom.
