ZFS, one file system to rule them all and it isn’t on Linux. ZFS has boot environments and you can do some really crazy stuff. On my laptop I use OpenSolaris 129 and I created a new boot environment to install build 130 into. 130 crashed and burned, bad. So I just rebooted and selected the 129 boot environment and went back to work. And by the way, it’s vi.
