[ANNOUNCEMENT] Commons Configuration 1.8 Released

The Apache Commons team is pleased to announce the availability
of Commons Configuration 1.8.

The Commons Configuration software library provides a generic configuration interface which enables an application to read configuration data from a variety of sources, e.g. properties files, XML documents, JDBC datasources and many more. More information can be found at the Configuration main site at
http://commons.apache.org/configuration/

The focus of the new release lies in adding support for Java 1.5. This is now the minimum required JDK version. The API has been slightly adapted to new language features. This could be achieved in a binary compatible way; thus Commons Configuration 1.8 is a drop-in replacement for Commons Configuration 1.7. In addition, a few bugs have been fixed.

A full list of changes since the previous release can be found in the release notes or in the changes report at
http://commons.apache.org/configuration/changes-report.html

Apache Commons Configuration is available in either binary or source form from the Configuration downloads page:
http://commons.apache.org/configuration/download_configuration.cgi

(Please remember to verify the provided checksums and/or signatures after you have downloaded a distribution!)

Slow Death by Jim Fielder

This book details some of the crimes by David Parker Ray and friends.  It pretty much covers the gamut of what twisted people will do to another human being.

It starts with the final victim getting away.

http://goo.gl/wKIyB

After decades of applying the same principles to all of the victims on the final one they finally got just a tad sloppy.

A set of keys was left on a table.

The phone rang.

The call was moved to another room with the keys still on the table.

The victim seeing her chance did whatever she could do to get the keys and finally did.

When the hostage taker came back she started to beat on the victim.

Even with that the victim manages to find the right key and unshackled herself.

The fighting continues.

A box is knocked over.

An ice pick falls on the floor.

The victim snatches it up and jams it into the neck of the hostage tacker and then runs for it.

She makes it to a house and the police are called.  And then as usual.  The details finally come out.

Although the authorities are sure he murdered a great many victims no body was ever found.

Instead of rambling off the same diatribe to each victim they did something else.

They just recorded what they wanted to say and then they just played the recording for the victim.

Simple.

New victim.  Hit play.  New victim.  Hit play. and on and on and on.

Saves a lot of time and you don’t forget anything that way with the new victim.

That’s arrogance.

And that’s what most of them really are.

The author of the book as usual calls him a smart cookie.

He had someone hold a knife to their throat.  That doesn’t take a whole lot of brain power now does it.

Usually that or the words shut up are followed by what the prosecuting attorney said.

And then he just indulged himself.

And that’s all they really are.  Just little kids indulging themselves.  And just like little kids eventually play time runs out.

And then what do you do?

In this case he drugged them up so bad they would forget what happened to them.

So when he was eventually hauled into court that’s what happened.  They couldn’t remember most of it.

And that’s when the D.A showed the jury the list of rules.  To make them forget drug them up.  And then he asked the jury if that’s what happened?

And if you compare his list to that of Mike DeBardeleben it looks similar.

If you look at any of the lists or see the end result they all look the same.

There’s nothing special about any of them.
